Learning the 2×2 in Cubing Forge

A smaller puzzle can reveal a different challenge. The 2×2 puts the focus on corner pieces, making it an inviting way to explore how position and orientation work together.

A compact puzzle with room to grow

The 2×2 consists of corner pieces. Each carries three colours, so completing a face and completing a layer are different milestones: the surrounding sides need to agree as well.

That distinction is one reason the puzzle offers more than its size suggests. It asks you to understand whole pieces and their relationships, rather than chase one colour at a time.

Cubing Forge gives 2×2 its own place in the Library. Choose the puzzle and explore its lessons and examples inside the workshop.

The Library’s interactive format brings together the explanation, starting grip and moves. Prepared examples and step-by-step playback let you revisit the part you want to understand instead of rushing through an entire solve.

Move from learning to virtual play

The virtual 2×2 is playable in Cubing Forge, so you can explore the puzzle without owning a physical one. It sits alongside 3×3, 4×4, 5×5 and Megaminx in the five-puzzle workshop.

If you are comparing learning paths, the 3×3 has a separate guided Campaign. The 2×2 learning experience is provided through its puzzle-specific Library content and the game’s play and practice tools.

Keep track as your solving develops

Solve timing gives you a way to follow your 2×2 practice once you are ready for complete solves. Sessions and solve history help keep that practice organised.

The game’s detailed Cross, F2L, OLL and PLL analysis applies to verified 3×3 CFOP solves. For 2×2, the focus is its own lessons, virtual puzzle and solve timing.
